Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson’s absence from portions of Vikings training camp practices this week is down to an ear infection.
“I had an ear infection,” Hockenson revealed to reporters Monday. “It was messing with my equilibrium. Just taking it slow and trying to get back as quick as I can.”
He added that he’s not sure if he’s going to be able to take part in joint practices with the Tennessee Titans this week.
T.J. Hockenson said today that he developed an ear infection early in camp that affected his equilibrium, explaining why he has not participated in the contact and team portions of practices. He said he did not know if he would participate in joint practices w/ Titans this week.

Hockenson was one of many starters to not participate in last Thursday’s preseason game in Seattle but has also been a limited participant over the past two weeks in practices.
KSTP and Skor North reporter Darren Wolfson said the Vikings could move soon to extend Hockenson’s contract, which expires at the end of this season. The insider says both sides are “motivated to strike a deal.”
The Vikings are set to host the Tennessee Titans this week leading up to the two teams facing off Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium in the second preseason game.
