Wild defenseman Ryan Suter will skate against his old teammates tonight when Nashville clashes with Minnesota tonight at Xcel Energy Center.
Suter tells the Star Tribune he’s still close to a lot of the guys on the team, but is still “looking forward to beating them.”
In an interview with the Nashville Tennessean, Suter stood by his decision to leave the Predators.
“I wanted my family and my kids to grow up in the Midwest where I grew up,” Suter said.
Predators general manager David Poile thought Suter would re-sign with Nashville, and after Suter left for the Wild (13 years, $98 million), said he didn’t understand the decision.
Months later, Poile says there are no hard feelings, and when he sees Suter, “I’ll shake his hand.”
