Wild defenseman Ryan Suter faced his former club, the Nashville Predators, last night for the first time since signing with Minnesota.
Big deal? While Suter gave all the signals before the game that it was a big event in his hockey life, after the game (a 3-1 Predators win) he told the Nashville Tennessean that “it wasn’t that big of a deal” … adding that “the media makes it more than it is.”
So be it.
Meanwhile, Star Tribune writer Jim Souhan points out that Suter has yet to register a point through three contests in the lockout-shortened season, saying Suter seems “caught between assertiveness and wariness.”
Not that anyone is worried, especially Wild coach Mike Yeo. He told Fox Sports North that Suter is “getting there, for sure. It doesn’t take much with guys like this.”
