Gophers quarterback Demry Croft has returned from a three-game suspension.
Croft was suspended from the team for undisclosed reasons after Minnesota’s 48-14 win over Oregon State on Sept. 9.
He returned to practice this week as the third-string quarterback on the depth chart, according to Drew Cove of the Minnesota Daily. Meanwhile, Woodbury native Seth Green is listed as the primary backup to Conor Rhoda.
“We are going to hold people accountable for their actions, period,” Head coach P.J. Fleck said to the Pioneer Press on Tuesday, who still would not comment on why Croft was suspended.
Croft was sharing quarterback duties with Rhoda, but Rhoda was named the full-time starter following the win over Oregon State.
In his two games at quarterback, Croft completed 7 of 12 passes for 63 yards with zero touchdowns and zero turnovers.
The Gophers began conference play last weekend with a disappointing loss to Maryland. They’ll try to get back on track against Purdue University this Saturday, kickoff is at 2:30 p.m.
