The Timberwolves will take on former Minnesota player Michael Beasley and the Phoenix Suns Saturday night at Target Center.
The team is looking for a comeback from Wednesday’s 87-84 loss to Houston. With Kevin Love in a shooting slump, Ricky Rubio playing limited minutes and the uncertainty of Brandon Roy’s return, it’s looking tough for the Wolves.
Love has been putting in extra time at practice to regain his shooting rhythm.
The two-time All-Star’s shooting percentage is a career low, shooting 35.5 percent from the field, 22.5 percent on three-pointers and averaging 18.8 points per game. His lack of consistency could be due to the hand injury that sidelined him for nine games at the beginning of the season.
Coach Rick Adelman says Ricky Rubio has been cleared to play up to 24 minutes, but it all depends on how well he plays.
Brandon Roy missed practice Friday for personal reasons after it looked promising this week that he might return to the lineup Saturday.
Roy has been out since early November with knee problems. He has struggled with chronic knee issues throughout his career.
Adelman is doubtful Roy will play Saturday night.
