Will he or won’t he play?
Wild scoring leader Zach Parise’s lingering upper body injury is not healed and has been keeping him off the ice as the Wild limped into the playoffs with a five game losing streak.
Now, there’s concern that Parise won’t be able to play when the first round of the playoffs start Thursday in Dallas.
Parise’s status is officially listed as “day-to-day” by Wild coaches. He didn’t practice Sunday as the Wild began playoff preparation and the Star Tribune’s Michael Russo writes it would be a huge loss for the Wild if Parise doesn’t play.
Parise leads the team with 25 goals this season and he’s the top scorer in Wild playoff history with 25 points in 28 games.
In addition to Parise, the Wild are also missing center Erik Haula and Thomas Vanek due to injuries.
Torchetti says Haula is day-to-day as well. #mnwild
