Despite setting career highs in receptions, yards and touchdowns last season, Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs fell eight spots in this year’s Top 100 NFL Players list from NFL Network.
The list, voted on by NFL players, changes annually, but it’s a bit strange to see Diggs fall, even slightly, from 65 in 2018 to 73 this year.
- Diggs 2017: 64 catches, 849 yards, 8 TD, 67.4% catch rate
- Diggs 2018: 102 catches, 1,021 yards, 9 TD, 68.4% catch rate
Considering the top 100 is voted on by players, Diggs’ drop likely has more to do with randomness than any specific players being better than him.
That said, his reception total jumped significantly year over year, and if he puts up another monster season in 2019 he could find himself skyrocketing up the top 100 list.
Perhaps the bigger dig at Diggs was Sports Illustrated failing to include him in its “Fashionable 50” athletes of 2019.

Diggs is the third Viking to make the top 100 list. Kirk Cousins is No. 78 and safety Harrison Smith was voted 83rd.
Adam Thielen, who finished last season with 113 catches for 1,373 yards and 9 touchdowns last season, has yet to be revealed in the top 100, which unveils 10 per week. Last year, Thielen ranked 36th overall.
