The Star Tribune has added a familiar face to its Twins beat, with Megan Ryan moving into the role from her previous position covering Gophers football.
Ryan will be filling the space left by long-serving Twins reporter LaVelle E. Neal, who it was announced earlier this year would be transitioning to a columnist role.
Ryan is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and was a sports reporting intern for the Star Tribune in 2014. After a stint covering Penn State sports for the Pittsburgh Sports Gazette, Ryan returned to the Star Tribune in 2017.
Upon Ryan’s return, she covered the Minnesota Loons during their inaugural season and the Gophers football beat for the past two seasons.
Ryan will start her new position next month along with Phil Miller, who has been on the Star Tribune’s Twins beat since 2013.
Spring training is underway in Florida, with the Twins due to start the 2021 regular season against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park on Apr. 1
