Karl-Anthony Towns hit a career-high seven 3-pointers and Kelan Martin came up huge when in mattered most to help the Timberwolves beat the Jazz 112-102 Monday night.
It’s the first home loss of the season for Utah, and Minnesota got the job done without Andrew Wiggins, who missed a third consecutive game, two due to the death of his grandmother and Monday because of an illness.
The man who came up big in the final four minutes was Martin, who knocked down a corner 3-pointer and hit two floaters over Jazz big man Rudy Gobert to keep Minnesota’s cushion at a healthy margin.
“We kept giving the ball to Kelan Martin. I know a lot of Timberwolves fans will be like, ‘who the hell is that?’ or whatever the case may be. But we know what he can do, he’s a bonafide scorer,” said Towns after the game in an interview with FSN’s Marney Gellner.

Martin finished 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including scoring seven straight points for the Wolves from the 3:23 mark to the 1:36 mark of the fourth quarter, turning a 100-90 Wolves lead into a 107-94 cushion.
Towns finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds, including seven triples.
Karl-Anthony Towns hit seven three-pointers today in a #Timberwolves win at Utah, tying his career-high set earlier this season. He joins Brook Lopez and Sam Perkins as the only centers with multiple career games with 7+ 3PM.
