In case you haven’t noticed, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been playing better basketball as of late.
Since Christmas, the Wolves are over .500 at 8-7. Believe it or not, that stretch has them just 2.5 games back of a playoff spot heading into play Thursday night.
A big reason for the turnaround has been the play of Shabazz Muhammad.
Since Dec. 25, Muhammad is averaging nearly 12 points while shooting 52 percent from the floor. He’s been even deadlier from the 3-point line hitting 56 percent of 3-point attempts.
The third-year pro is averaging 22 minutes during the team’s better stretch. Before that, he was only playing 16 minutes a game, while being inactive a few times too.
Head coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters before their game with the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, that the sixth-man deserves a lot of credit for the team’s success over the last month.
Thibodeau isn’t the only one as his teammate Andrew Wiggins said he’s been doing everything for them lately.
