A six-run tenth inning fueled the Twins to a 11-5 win over the Royals in Kansas City Thursday night.
The game was tied at five to start the tenth, but the Twins loaded the bases and went on to score six runs – one on a single by Eduardo Nunez, two more on a bloop single to left by Jordan Schafer, who finished the game with four RBIs, two more on a double by Brian Dozier and another on a deep double to left off the bat of Kurt Suzuki.

An RBI groundout by Kennys Vargas and a sacrifice fly off the bat of Oswaldo Arcia gave the Twins a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Kansas City quickly tied the game with a pair of RBI singles in the bottom of the first.
Minnesota jumped back on top, 4-2, thanks to a pair of RBI singles by Schafer and Dozier in the fourth. Schafer added a run-scoring double in the sixth, which put the Twins on top 5-4.
Alex Gordon changed the deficit back into a tie when he belted a Ryan Pressly fastball over the right-center field wall for a solo home run.
Tommy Milone, Minnesota’s starting pitcher, was pulled with just one out in the sixth inning. He allowed four runs on nine hits, two walks and zero strikeouts.
