Minnesota Vikings’ punter and gay marriage advocate Chris Kluwe has been named Salon’s Sexiest Man of 2012.
In an interview with the online magazine, Kluwe is caught a little off guard by the title, referring to himself as a “nerd video game player,” but Salon suggests recent shirtless photos in OUT magazine say otherwise.
Sex symbol aside, Kluwe tops Salon’s list for his outspoken support of same-sex marriage that got the public’s attention after the football player’s scathing letter to a Maryland lawmaker was published on Deadspin.
After football, Kluwe says he might pursue activism through writing or continue running a miniature hobby gaming store in southern California.
