Ricky Rubio scored 10 points and had 4 assists in 21 minutes of the Timberwolves’ 100-94 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night – his first game in nearly three months after suffering a brutal ankle/foot injury.
Eighty-six days without Rubio resulted in more losses (only team in the NBA with 40 losses) and fewer highlights. Andrew Wiggins has picked up the slack with some freaky athleticism, but he could be well on his way to more highlights with Rubio distributing the ball like a true point guard does. Just check out the sweet lob Rubio offered up to Wiggins midway through the fourth quarter against Dallas.

Rubio also flashed some of his passing skills with a bounce through traffic that left the Mavericks’ television announcers in awe.

Ricky doing Ricky things. RIDICULOUS pass to get Thad an opportunity for a layup. He gets fouled and heads to the line for two.

Fans will get more of Rubio when the Wolves host the Miami Heat on Wednesday, but if you can’t wait 24 hours go ahead and look at his sweet haircut in the photo gallery from his return at RickyRubio9.com.
It’s good to have Minnesota’s $55 million point guard back on the court, but don’t expect to see him playing 40 minutes anytime too soon. Head coach Flip Saunders pulled Rubio with four minutes left in the game because he could see Rubio starting to favor his foot, as reported by FOX Sports North.
