Derrick Rose doesn’t like playing in the “The Triangle” offense the New York Knicks run. He loves playing in the pick-n-roll offense the Timberwolves run under Rose’s former head coach, Tom Thibodeau.
We’ll know within an hour or so if the two will be pick-n-rolling together again. For now, Rose isn’t hiding his disdain for the Knicks’ offense.
“It’s a different offense,’’ Rose said after Knicks shoot-around today, according to the New York Post. “As a point guard, you’re always in the corner and just got to play off reads and play that way. It’s new for everybody here. I get all my points off random baskets. Unless you see it go to the post, all the other stuff is just random basketball.’’
A Rose for Ricky Rubio swap has been widely reported for days, and it’s still garnering major reports from well known reporters like Adrian Wojnarowski and David Aldridge as the 2 p.m. trade deadline quickly approaches.
Meanwhile, Rose is still raving about Thibodeau.
“Great coach — I haven’t had the time to think about the opportunity to play there,’’ Rose said, via thePost. “I’m here. We have a game today. He was a great guy, great coach. Learned a lot from him and won a lot when we were together.”
Stay tuned.
