Ron Gardehire is back in baseball – and back in Minnesota with the Twins.
The Twins announced Monday afternoon that Gardenhire has been hired as a Special Assistant to the General Manager (Terry Ryan).
Gardenhire will also visit minor league affiliates as an instructor and talent evaluator.
The Twins fired Gardenhire following a fourth straight 90-plus loss season in 2014. Prior to his departure, he guided the Twins to 1,068 wins in 13 seasons, including six division championships.
