For the first time since being traded to Philadelphia, former Twins outfielder Ben Revere returns to Target Field tonight.
The Twins (27-33) kick off a nine-game homestand with a three-game series against the Phillies (31-33) at Target Field.
Revere, hitting .244 in 58 games so far this year, was traded in December for pitchers Vance Worley and Trevor May.
After opening the season as the Phillies’ center fielder, and batting leadoff, Revere has since been put in an outfield platoon with former Twin Delmon Young and John Mayberry, Jr.
It’s gone slightly worse for the “Vanimal,” Vance Worley. He was Minnesota’s Opening Day starter, but is now in Triple-A Rochester — sent down a few weeks ago after a rough April and May.
Worley’s 2013 stats in the majors: A 1-5 record in 10 starts with a 7.21 ERA, with batters hitting .381 against him.
Worley’s 2013 stats in the minors: A 1-2 record after three starts with a 2.84 ERA, with batters hitting .288 against him.
May, meanwhile, is in Double-A New Britain, where he’s put together a 5-2 record in 12 starts, with a 3.92 ERA.
