Turner is the son of former Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner, who resigned midseason. Scott Turner started with the Vikings in 2014 – the same year the Vikings drafted Teddy Bridgewater.

Pro Football Talk notes that Turner has largely worked with NFL teams that his father has been coaching with as well. In 2013, he was the Browns wide receivers coach, while his father was the offensive coordinator.
He’s also coached in the high school and college ranks.
The Vikings removed the interim tag on offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur over the weekend.
