The Minnesota Vikings have confirmed they have acquired wide receiver Mike Wallace in a trade with the Miami Dolphins.
The deal will send Minnesota’s 5th-round pick to Miami in exchange for Wallace and a 7th-round selection.

Wallace, 28, signed a five-year, $60 million deal in 2013 with the Dolphins. Pro Football Talk reports that Wallace is due to make $9.85 million in 2015 and he is signed for two more seasons at $11.45 million each year.
According to 1500 ESPN, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman had interest in Wallace as the team was looking for a way to replace Percy Harvin that year, but Wallace opted for Miami.

Wallace finished last season with 67 catches for 862 yards and 10 touchdowns.
According to Vikings.com, as a rookie in 2009 Wallace led the NFL averaging 19.4 yards per catch. That season he caught 39 passes for 756 yards and six touchdowns.

The deal brings Wallace to Norv Turner’s offense, which favors a deep passing attack and will allow Wallace to line up with Greg Jennings, Charles Johnson and tight end Kyle Rudolph to give Teddy Bridgewater plenty of targets.
If Adrian Peterson returns to the Vikings backfield, the offense would be even more dangerous.
Vikings play-by-play man Paul Allen seemed to approve.
