A Gophers men’s basketball player posted sexually explicit videos to Twitter before being suspended for Sunday’s game against Illinois, according to reports.
Sophomore Nate Mason and freshmen Dupree McBrayer and Kevin Dorsey were suspended for what at the time was described as a violation of team rules.
What exactly happened? The university didn’t say, but basketball coach Richard Pitino commented there are “expectations and standards to which we hold our student-athletes accountable, and they have failed to do so.”
Then on Sunday, Deadspin reported that Dorsey posted two sexually explicit videos to his Twitter account Friday night. His Twitter is now deleted, but it caught the attention of the GopherHole forums.
ESPN 1500 reporter Darren Wolfson was alerted to the tweet, and confirmed its existence.

It’s not clear if the suspensions of Mason and McBrayer are related to the tweet.
In an email statement Monday, the University of Minnesota did not acknowledge any social media posting as being the reason for the suspensions (though the Associated Press says it is).
The U however did say: “Information related to individual student discipline is private educational data, and as a result we cannot share any additional information at this time.”
