After a horrendous 2018 season former Twins second baseman Brian Dozier will get a chance to turn things around as a member of the Washington Nationals.
According to reports, Dozier signed a one-year, $9 million deal with the Nationals on Thursday. That’s fun news for Twins fans because the Twins host the Nationals Sept. 10-12 next season.

The soon-to-be 32-year-old former All-Star was on pace to sign a massive free-agent contract this offseason, but those dreams fell apart with a rough, injury-plagued 2018 that saw him hit .215 with 21 homers and 72 RBI, way down from the 34 home runs he hit in 2017 and the 42 he launched in 2016.
Dozier hit .207 with the Twins who then traded him to the NL champion Dodgers where he was relegated to a bench role and hit just .182 in 47 games.
It’s yet to be seen if Dozier will bat in the same lineup as perennial All-Star Bryce Harper, whom is considering free-agent offers from teams around the league and could choose to leave the Nationals.
