If you’ve ever been excited for a player to join a practice squad, rookie quarterback Kyle Sloter is that guy.
After being cut by the Denver Broncos, Sloter will be joining the Vikings’ practice squad.
Sloter is also about to make serious money for a player not even on the active roster, as he’ll make $20,000 a week, compared to the NFL minimum for a player on the practice squad, which a little over $7,000.

The QB lit it up during the preseason, posting a passer rating of 125.4 with a completion percentage of 72 percent, while throwing three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
He played his college football at Northern Colorado, where he transitioned from tight end, to signal caller. During his senior year, Sloter threw for 29 touchdowns to just 10 interceptions.
The Vikings ended up keeping just two quarterbacks on their active roster in Sam Bradford and Case Keenum, with Teddy Bridgewater going on the PUP list.
It would take a string of unfortunate events for Sloter to be added to the 53-man roster.
And because he’s on an NFL practice squad, any team in the NFL can pluck Sloter off the Vikings’ practice squad, to be added their active roster at any given moment.
But for now, let’s all keep freaking out over the Vikings adding a third-string QB to their practice squad.
