With Sam Bradford dealing with a leg injury, the Vikings have signed another quarterback to their active roster.
Kyle Sloter, a member of the Vikings practice squad, was signed to the 53-man roster on Saturday.
Sloter is one of the highest paid players on an NFL practice squad. He was cut by the Denver Broncos in the preseason, but the former standout at Northern Colorado put up impressive numbers.
Sloter being added to the active roster means one of two things:
- Bradford is indeed hurt and can’t play on Sunday.
- It’s just a precautionary move and if Bradford can play, Sloter will likely be inactive.
Before Solter was added, Minnesota had only two quarterbacks on their roster in Bradford and Case Keenum.
Head coach Mike Zimmer told reporters after Friday’s practice, that he anticipates Bradford will start, despite the quarterback being limited in practice.
Bradford underwent an MRI on his left knee that came back negative.
If Bradford can’t go, look for Keenum to be under center when Minnesota takes the field on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
