Here’s a brief update on what’s on tap for Adrian Peterson’s appeal hearing today.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports the hearing will resume at 1:30 p.m. The hearing began Tuesday and was idol Wednesday.
Peterson is not expected to attend today’s session, according to the Associated Press, via Fox Sports North.
The hearing today, barring a negotiated settlement between Peterson and the NFL before the hearing resumes, will feature testimony from NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent. Peterson’s camp alleges it has a recorded conversation with Vincent telling the star running back that the league’s new domestic violence policy would not be applied to him since his child abuse case resulted from an incident prior to the new policy’s implementation.
According to Sports Illustrated, time served while on paid suspension with a possible two-game suspension added on is all the punishment Peterson thought was possible. Peterson has not played since Week 1 of the regular season.
Unless Peterson wins his appeal or reaches a settlement he will not be up for reinstatement until April 15, 2015.
