Outside linebacker Jordan Hicks is returning to the Minnesota Vikings on a restructured contract, according to NFL insider Adam Caplan.
Hicks was entering the final year of his deal with Minnesota, with the contract carrying a $5 million cap hit. Restructuring the deal likely lowered that cap number but details have not yet been released.
Hours before news of Hicks restructuring his deal broke, the Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling reported that the Vikings “are still pursuing restructured deals with players like Harrison Smith and Jordan Hicks.”
Goessling also said the Vikings could “explore with players like Za’Darius Smith and Dalvin Cook.”
The #Vikings have taken an aggressive approach to their cap problems so far, and could also explore trades with players like Za’Darius Smith and Dalvin Cook.
As for Kirk Cousins, indications have been nothing is close on a deal.
