We ask again: which team will Jimmy Butler be on during the 2019-20 season?
It’s the million dollar question that nobody has the answer to, but numerous reports suggest Butler won’t return to Minnesota following the upcoming season, when he’s eligible to test free agency and sign where he pleases.
The latest report has Butler open to the idea of playing with LeBron James in Los Angeles. This from Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.
“Per a source close to Butler, he’s open to the idea of moving on from the Timberwolves to play alongside James in Los Angeles.”
The hitch in the idea might be that Butler and Kyrie Irving reportedly want to play together, and the odds of LeBron and Irving get back together again after an ugly split in Cleveland don’t seem all that likely.
Previous reports have said Butler and Irving, and possibly a third superstar, hope to team up in the Eastern Conference, possibly with the Brooklyn Nets or New York Knicks next summer.
Either way, it’s another report that talks about Butler’s future and once again it says nothing about Butler hoping to stick around in Minnesota.
