With the NFL’s annual trade deadline coming up this Tuesday at 3 p.m., rumors are flying across the league about big name players that could potentially be on the move.
Today, Jared Allen has been added to that list, with FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer reporting that Allen is available for “the right price.”
What does that mean?
Glazer says the “right price” would be higher than a third-round pick, since Minnesota would receive a compensatory third-rounder in the offseason should Allen sign somewhere else.
The Pioneer Press’ Sean Jensen later confirmed that report.
Not that he needs it, but I can confirm @JayGlazer report that #Vikings are open to trading Jared Allen. There's http://t.co/J1ryfN2zbf

Allen, twice the league leader in sacks, has taken criticism this year for no longer being an elite pass rusher, putting up 12 sacks last year and just 4.5 this year.
The 31-year-old had a highlight reel sack last week though, corralling Eli Manning one-handed and through a block.
Would Allen like a trade? That element is up in the air, though he know he “embraces the suck.”
