Jabrill Peppers can play almost every position on the football field.
The former Michigan star is one of the best all-around athletes in the NFL Draft but he’s not going in the first round (via the Detroit Free Press) of the final mock drafts by ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. or Todd McShay.
Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller has Peppers falling all the way to the Vikings at pick 48 in the second round. If that happens, he would have a chance to replace Andrew Sendejo as the starting free safety opposite of all-pro strong safety, Harrison Smith.
Peppers might fall because Adam Schefter reported that Peppers tested positive for a diluted urine sample at the NFL Combine. Peppers’ camp says he tested positive for the dilute because he chugged 8-10 bottles of water before going to bed the day before his Combine workouts in an effort to beat dehydration.
Imagine a starting Vikings secondary of Smith, Peppers, Xavier Rhodes and possibly Trae Waynes, who has a lot to prove entering his third year in the NFL after being a first-round pick in 2015.

Defensive mastermind Mike Zimmer would probably drool at the chance to move Peppers all over the field. According to SB Nation, Peppers played 11 positions last season en route to being named a Heisman finalist and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and conference linebacker of the year.
“Free or strong. I’m very fast, I’m stronger than the typical DB, tougher than the typical DB, since I played linebacker in the Big Ten at 200 pounds,” Peppers said at the Combine, via ESPN. “So that’s anywhere from nickel, I can play some corner still. So we’ll see. It’s gonna be a fun process.”
