Until now, nothing has been said or reported to explain why Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo was hospitalized in neurological intensive care in early April.
The Sabres gave very little info, only describing Okposo’s ailment as an “illness.” Yahoo! Sports reports he was released from the hospital on April 7, but his team did not provide an update on his condition in head coach Dan Bylsma’s season-ending press conference.
But earlier this week, Sabres forward William Carrier told RDS television that Okposo was hospitalized because of a concussion. Another report from SabresProspects.com’s Kris Baker says Okposo experienced a bad reaction to post-concussion medication.
It’s unclear when Okposo suffered that concussion.
The Buffalo News reports Okposo is doing better and he’ll likely be healthy enough to participate in training camp in September.
The former Gopher is entering the second year of a seven-year, $42-million contract with the Sabres.
