It looks like quarterback Matt Cassel is returning to the Minnesota Vikings.
NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport cites a team source that indicates the Vikings and Cassel will agree on a two-year contract.

According to the Star Tribune, Cassel and the Vikings agreed on a two-year $10 million deal.
1500 ESPN reports the it is assumed Cassel’s new deal will grant him more than the $3.7 million he walked away from when he opted out of his contract in February.
Thursday, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said publicly he hoped Cassel would return,“I would love to have Matt Cassel back, if Matt Cassel wants to be back. I don’t know if that will happen or won’t happen. But we’re going to find a quarterback somewhere. And if it’s not Matt Cassel, then we’ll find someone else.”
Rapoport reported Thursday that there had been some mutual interest between Cassel and Houston. New Texans coach Bill O’Brien was an assistant at New England when Cassel filled in for an injured Tom Brady.
Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman has said the team wanted to sign a veteran quarterback in free agency and also draft a college quarterback.
Cassel’s return gives the Vikings two quarterbacks under contract. He played in nine games for the Vikings in 2013 and led the team with 11 touchdown passes.
