Former Twins outfielder Delmon Young faces a variety of criminal charges after he was arrested angry and undressed at a Miami hotel Sunday night.
A Miami police report indicates that Young grabbed a hotel employee by the neck and threatened to kill him after the outfielder was denied admission into a hotel night club.
The report also indicates that Young used anti-Cuban slurs both at the hotel and again when police went to his condominium.
ESPN offers this account of Young’s run-in in Miami:
“Young said, ‘Stupid Cuban, open the [expletive] door. I’m here. Now what?’
He was told again the club was closed and Young responded: ‘I’m going to [expletive] kill you, you Latin piece of [expletive].’ According to the report, Young then began to choke the valet.”
The police report notes that when officers arrived at Young’s condominium the outfielder opened the door naked from the waist down and again was belligerent with an officer.

According to WPLG, it’s not Young’s first run-in with the law. He was arrested in New York City in 2012 after police claimed he yelled anti-Semitic epithets during a fight at his hotel.
In 2006, Young was also suspended for 50 games while playing for the Durham Bulls for throwing a bat at an umpire. He was also suspended for three games after he chest-bumped a minor league plate umpire in 2005.
Young most recently played for Baltimore. He spent nearly four seasons with the Twins (2008-2011), before he was traded to Detroit in 2011. He also played for the Rays and Phillies.
