The Twins ended their homestand on Thursday with a 7-3 loss to the Phillies and they also lost third baseman Trevor Plouffe to injury. Plouffe was diagnosed with a groin strain and is listed as day-to-day after running out a ground ball in the 6th inning.
Despite getting on the board in the 1st inning the Twins gave the lead right back in the next half inning and never got back in front. Ricky Nolasco allowed 10 hits and walked 4 in 6.2 innings of work.
Kevin Jepsen’s struggles continued when he surrendered a three-run home run, which inflated his ERA to 6.28.
The Twins begin a three game series in New York with the Yankees this weekend.
