Reggie Jackson might be the perfect guard to help open the floor for the Timberwolves’ offense. But Jackson in a Wolves uniform appears to be a pipe dream.
On Saturday, Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy said they are not interested in trading Jackson for Wolves guard Ricky Rubio, although he did acknowledge talks between the teams.
“I texted Reggie and just said, ‘This is crazy season, and we’re not trading you for Ricky Rubio,'” Van Gundy said, via ESPN.
“I’m not denying that the discussion took place — they take place all the time. But that’s a lot different than consideration. And clearly we didn’t make that move,” Van Gundy added.
Rubio will not play Sunday when the Wolves play the Nuggets. He’s out for personal reasons, the Wolves say.
