After a stellar rookie season in 2013, Cordarrelle Patterson found himself out of the shuffle over the last two seasons for the Vikings.
Although he’s excelled on special teams – setting a new team record with 3,619 career kick return yards in the Vikings’ loss to the Redskins – he’s had a problem with running routes and playing wide receiver.
Patterson put in a lot of work this offseason at being a more complete player on offense for the Vikings. He mostly focused on his route running, and his hard work is paying off.
Entering week 11 of the NFL season, Patterson has the highest catch percentage of targets thrown his way among wide receivers in the NFL, catching 88 percent of targets in his direction.

After catching just 1 pass through the first 2 games, Patterson has hauled in 29 passes over the last 7 games, while catching 2 touchdowns in that span too.
He’s projected to finish the season with 53 passes which would surpass his career high of 45 during his rookie season. Patterson is one of four Vikings players who have 30 receptions or more this season.
The former first-round pick is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Minnesota can still retain him before NFL free agency begins in March.
