It’ll feel like baseball weather when the gates open at Target Field for Monday’s season opener between the Twins and Royals.
According to the National Weather Service, the forecasted high temperature Monday is 60 degrees under party sunny skies. That means about 40,000 fans should enjoy a sold out Target Field for a third consecutive year, according to LaVelle E. Neal.
It was 42 degrees with a 20 mph wind during last year’s home opener. The warmest opening day game in Target Field history is 65 degrees in the inaugural game back in 2010.
This is the first year since 2013 the Twins are starting the season at home.
Fans will have packed Target Field to capacity now in five of seven home openers at Target Field, which opened in 2010.
