We’ve got a conclusion to what’s been a confusing and chaotic timeline in regards to the Twins and starting pitcher Jaime Garcia.
Minnesota announced Monday it has acquired Garcia and catcher Anthony Recker from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for minor leaguer Huascar Ynoa.
Garcia, a veteran starting pitcher, is 4-7 this season with an ERA of 4.30 in 113 innings pitched while striking out 85 batters.
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported over the weekend that an original deal between the two teams fell through because Atlanta wasn’t interested in acquiring Nick Burdi – who Minnesota initially offered – because Burdi underwent Tommy John surgery in May.
Ynoa is Minnesota’s 22nd best prospect and has an ERA of 5.61 in six starts this season in the Appalachian League.
