An MRI exam on the right elbow of Minnesota Twins slugger Miguel Sano has found no structural damage.
Sano, who has been feeling some discomfort in the elbow, underwent the exam Monday. It’s good news for the Twins and Sano, who missed all of 2014 after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Sano started 21 games at third base during July while Trevor Plouffe was on the disabled list. He made two starts at third in August – most recently on Aug. 7 in Tampa Bay.
He is hitting .250 with 20 home runs, 16 doubles and 50 RBIs in 84 games this year.
According to the Pioneer Press, Sano told trainers the soreness doesn’t bother him at the plate, which is good news because he’s been swinging a hot bat as of late. He’s clobbered five home runs over his last eight games.
The Star Tribune reports that Twins manager Paul Molitor and team trainers can now decide when Sano will return to playing some third base.
The Twins are leaving for Atlanta to open a two-game series with the Braves Tuesday.
