Minnesota outscored Chicago 32-14 in the third quarter.
The Lynx played without All-Star forward Seimone Augustus. The Star Tribune reports Augustus will be out at least a month after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery at Rochester’s Mayo Clinic.
Maya Moore was outstanding once again. She finished with 29 points on 10-of-23 shooting. Anna Cruz, who was moved into the starting lineup with Augustus out, played a big part. She was 7-of-10 shooting and scored 16 points, while dishing out five assists.
Asja Jones put up a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Lindsay Whalen added 10 points and dished out six assists.
Even Minnesota’s reserves got into the act. Tricia Liston knocked down a couple of three-pointers on her way to eight points off the bench.
It was a tough night for Chicago’s Elena Delle Donne. She finished with 14 points on 5-of-15 shooting. Jessica Breland had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
