The Vikings figured out their 2017 schedule on Thursday and although the team is away from home for most of the second half, Minnesota still has the most favorable schedule in the NFC.
NFL.com ranked every NFL team based on their opponents’ winning percentage in 2016 and Minnesota’s schedule is tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for the fifth-easiest in the NFL.
Only the Colts, Titans, Jaguars and Bengals – all teams from the AFC – have an easier schedule than the Vikings.
Meanwhile the rest of the NFC North has a bit of a tougher road, here’s where the Lions, Bears and Packers schedule stacks up.
- Lions, No. 21
- Bears, No. 19
- Packers, No. 18
- Vikings, No. 27 (tied)
Sports Illustrated isn’t as optimistic, it said the Vikings have eighth-toughest schedule for 2017.
After Minnesota’s bye week, the Vikings will play four of their next five on the road against playoff-caliber teams like: Atlanta, Carolina, Detroit and Green Bay.
As long as the the Vikings take care of business at home in the first half of the season, the team should still be in prime position to return to the playoffs next year.
