The second tie in the history of the Vikings-Packers series had Leslie Frazier befuddled, Christian Ponder disappointed, and left fans with mixed emotions.
Less mixed are the feelings about the Purple in the latest power rankings.
It’s bad guys, but not as bad as it was last week.
PRO FOOTBALL TALK: Up three spots to No. 28 – “Cordarelle Patterson became the first Vikings player since Randy Moss to put his butt on the goal post at Lambeau Field, but under slightly different circumstances.”
FOX SPORTS: Up three spots to No. 26 – “Minnesota still hasn’t won in Green Bay since Brett Favre was the quarterback — for the Vikings.”
CBS SPORTS: Stood pat at No. 29 – “They got a tie against the Packers, but that’s really like a loss considering they blew the lead. The defense isn’t very good.”
ESPN: Up three spots to No. 28 – “The Vikings hadn’t tied since 1978, which also came against the Packers. At least Adrian Peterson is 3 yards shy of his sixth 1,000-yard season.”
BLEACHER REPORT: Up two spots to No. 29 – Christian Ponder has been the best of the bunch (Minnesota quarterbacks), but the Vikings must address the position early in the 2014 NFL draft. Whether it’s Rick Spielman as general manager or a new regime, moving forward with this group of quarterbacks won’t produce results.”
YAHOO! SPORTS: Up three spots to No. 28 – Rookie Cordarrelle Patterson had his career highs in catches (eight) and yards (54) on Sunday. Maybe he can get on a nice roll headed into the offseason.
Not only are the Vikings surging in the power rankings, they’re surging in NFL draft pick status as well.
If the season ended today, the Purple would have the No. 4 pick.
One outlet has them landing Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota.
Oh the possibilities.
