NFL free agency begins on Tuesday and the Minnesota Vikings could be in a bidding war against the Dolphins for pro bowl wide receiver Mike Wallace, according to NBC Sports.
How much of the rumors, including the one about Wallace, are truth? The Star Tribune says the NFL’s new negotiating window puts pressure on agents to create more demand for their clients. That means more lying and more reporting — both very good for an increased pay day.
The new negotiating window opens at 11:00 p.m. CT Friday. Teams will have 88 hours to talk with agents of free agents, but cannot finalize contracts until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The Pioneer Press reports the odds of the Vikings paying top dollar for a player like Wallace or Jennings is unlikely if they also want to re-sign Percy Harvin.
