There are nerves and anxiousness but the Twins fully expect slugger Miguel Sano to be with the team on the week long road trip after his MRI test today.
Sano is getting the magnetic resonance imaging because of soreness in his surgically repaired right elbow. Sano, via the Twins, believes this MRI is more precautionary than alarming. Sano told reporters that he’s been dealing with some pain since Aug. 7 while on the road at Tampa Bay.
“I can feel whether it’s something big or not. From a couple years ago when I had the Tommy John, I felt a different pain,” Sano said Sunday.
“It’s just precautionary,” manager Paul Molitor said on his radio show Sunday on GO96.3FM.
Sano’s 20 home runs are second on the team behind Brian Dozier, who slugged his 26th of the season on Sunday.
