That didn’t take long.
On Tuesday morning, the Twins announced on their web site (it’s still up there) that they would offer fans the opportunity to purchase “early-entry” tickets for home games.
The $15 tickets (60 available per game) would allow fans into Target Field 45 minutes before gates open to the general public in order to see the hometown club take batting practice.
Fifteen extra bucks to see batting practice? That one didn’t fly.
Tuesday afternoon, the Twins announced that they had scrapped the idea, according to WCCO, and it should have never seen the light of day because “it was not fully vetted across the Twins organization.”
The idea was savaged my many, but Twins President Dave St. Peter said the retraction had nothing to do with negative fan and/or media reaction — of which there was plenty.
The Twins have pledged that all revenue will go to signing best No. 5 pitcher available on market.
