5 P.M. UPDATE
The bracketologists were all wrong in predicting Minnesota to get a No. 8 or 9 seed. Instead, the Gophers are a 10-seed and will face 7-seed Louisville on Thursday. More here.

It’s Selection Sunday and the Gophers will find out where they’re headed in the NCAA Tournament when the matchups are announced at 5 p.m.
If the bracketology folks are correct, Minnesota is in line to be seeded 8th or 9th, which would put them one win from a likely second-round matchup with one of the four top seeds in the tournament.
ESPN’s Joe Lunardi currently projects the Gophers as the No. 9 seed in the West Region, where they would face No. 8 seed Syracuse in Salt Lake City. The winner of that game would face No. 1 Gonzaga in the second round barring a No. 16 seed pulling an upset.
These are just projections and the No. 1 seeds are yet to be determined, but here’s what the other experts are predicting.
Jerry Palm’s bracket for CBS Sports has the Gophers listed as the No. 8 seed in the Midwest Region against No. 9 seed Seton Hall, with the winner advancing to the second round where they would likely run into North Carolina.
Brian Bennett’s bracket for The Athletic (paywall) also features Minnesota against Seton Hall, but the Gophers are the No. 9 seed and Seton Hall is the eight. The projection has the game falling in the East Region and being played in Columbia, South Carolina. The winner would likely get No. 1 seed Duke in the second round.
USA Today’s bracketology also has the Gophers facing Seton Hall in the first round, with Minnesota as the No. 9 seed. The winner in this scenario would likely face No. 1 seed Virginia in the second round.
You can watch the Selection Show at 5 p.m. Sunday on CBS or stream it live on NCAA.com.
