Minnesota will once again have a strong showing at the NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey Tournament.
Of the 16 teams in the tournament, four Minnesota teams will be battling it out for a trip to the Frozen Four in Boston on April 9 and 11.
The tournament field was announced Sunday morning on ESPNU. Here’s a look:
Midwest Region: No. 1 overall Minnesota State Mankato
The Mavericks, who have the highest win percentage in the nation, are the No. 1 overall seed going into the tournament.

Minnesota State will be heading to South Bend, Indiana, as the No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region, playing No. 4 Rochester Institute of Technology at 4 p.m Saturday.

No. 2 Omaha and No. 3 Harvard are also playing in the Midwest Region.
Northeast Region: Gophers vs. Bulldogs
No. 2 University of Minnesota Duluth and No. 3 University of Minnesota will square off in the Northeast Region at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Manchester, New Hampshire.
“We’re excited to once again be competing for a national championship, and I’m proud of the way our guys stepped up to earn a bid this year,” Minnesota head coach Don Lucia said in a news release Sunday. “We certainly have a great history and rivalry with Minnesota Duluth, and I’m sure we’ll see some exciting hockey this weekend.”

Filling out the Northeast Region is No. 1 Boston University and No. 4 Yale University.
West Region: No. 2 overall UND, No. 2 St. Cloud State
St. Cloud State and the University of North Dakota may end up battling it out for a trip to the Frozen Four.
No. 2 overall seed UND will be making its 13th straight appearance at the NCAA Tournament as the No. 1 seed in the West Regional, which is being held in Fargo, North Dakota.
UND will host No. 4 Quinnipiac Friday at 8 p.m., while No. 2 St. Cloud State will play No. 3 Michigan Tech at 4:3o p.m. Friday in Fargo.
If North Dakota and St. Cloud both win, they’ll play each other Saturday to go on to the Frozen Four in Boston.

East Region
No. 4 overall Miami Ohio is the No. 1 seed in the East Region. The RedHawks will play No. 4 Providence Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
No. 2 Denver will play No. 4 Boston College at 3 p.m. Saturday.
