Carmelo Anthony thought he hit the game-winning three with 4.7 seconds remaining, but Andrew Wiggins stole his moment by banking home a 30-foot 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Timberwolves a 115-113 victory in Oklahoma City Sunday night.
The final minute was wild, starting with Russell Westbrook’s three to tie the score, 110-110. Karl-Anthony Towns followed that up with a 15-foot floater that got a sweet roll on the rim and dropped for a 112-110 lead.
OKC came right back. This time, it was Anthony’s three with four seconds to play to put the Thunder back on top 113-112.
Out of timeouts, Taj Gibson quickly inbounded the ball to Wiggins, who cut up the center of the court thanks to a huge screen by Towns, and launched a desperation three at the buzzer, banking it in for the win.
