Things appear to be going from bad to worse for the Minnesota Twins’ most high-profile free-agent signing heading into the season.
After being demoted to AAA Rochester, Korean slugger Byung Ho Park has been placed on the disabled list by the Rochester Red Wings because of a wrist injury.

Park hasn’t played since Wednesday because of the injury, but he had been slumping in the previous games – going just 4-for-39 at the plate with 13 strike outs in his last 10 games.
“He could probably play but he’d be playing hurt,” Rochester manager Mike Quade told the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.
Park’s slump began immediately after his 3-home run game on July 28. It capped off what was the best stretch of the season for him.
Park blasted 8 home runs during a 10-game stretch.
The Twins had high hopes for Park at the start of the year, putting him on their Opening Day 25-man roster and promoting his “Park Bang'” name every time he homered. However, that hope started to fade as he struggled to remain consistent against big league pitching.
He was hitting just .191 with 12 home runs when the Twins sent him to the minors.
Things have continued to go even more pear-shaped as Park hit just .224 with 10 home runs and 19 RBIs since joining the Red Wings on July 2.
There’s no word on a timeline for when Park might return to the field.
