Twins prospects Royce Lewis and Alex Kirilloff are two of the best minor league prospects in baseball.
MLB Pipeline released its top 100 prospects and both Lewis and Kirilloff are inside the top 10, at numbers five and nine, respectively.
Lewis, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 draft had a fantastic season in the minors in 2018, slashing .292/.352/.451 between Cedar Rapids and advanced Fort Myers, while also belting 14 home runs and 46 extra-base hits. He drove in 74 runs and had 28 stolen bases.
Kirilloff, who was picked 15th overall in 2016, missed the entire 2017 season because of an arm injury. Despite missing a full season, the 20 year old slashed .348/.392/.578; drilled 20 home runs and had an impressive 71 extra-base hits and 101 RBI in 130 games last season.
Lewis projects as a future everyday shortstop while Kirilloff is an outfielder who split time between center and right field.
Both players have been invited to spring training and each could see time at Double-A Pensacola this season – Minnesota’s new affiliate that replaces Chattanooga.
Also cracking the top 100 was pitcher Brusdar Graterol at No. 68.
The 19-year-old flame-thrower posted a 3.00 ERA in 102 innings with 107 strikeouts over 19 starts last season.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays), the son of recent Hall of Fame inductee Vladimir Guerrero, is the No. 1 prospect on the list.
