The MLB Entry Draft continued Friday, with Twins selecting players in rounds 3-10.
In round three (78th pick overall), Minnesota picked a catcher, Ole Miss standout Stuart Turner.
Turner hit a team-leading .374 for Ole Miss in 62 games this season. He also led the team with 51 RBIs on five home runs.
Turner, a second-team All American, is also a finalist for the Johnny Bench award, which is given to the nation’s top college backstop.
In the fourth round, Minnesota picked high school pitcher Stephen Gonsalves, a 6-5 left-hander from San Marcos, Calif.
In the fifth round, more pitching, as the Twins grabbed 6-10 right-hander Aaron Slegers, who led the Indiana Hoosiers to the Big 10 title this year.
