Bartolo Colon is set to make his first start for the Rochester Red Wings – the Twins’ Triple-A affiliate on Thursday. Obviously when a player as charismatic as Colon comes to town, you roll out all the stops.

Pork, Bacon, Salami with cheddar cheese, cabbage and a tomato on steak roll? Sounds like something that should be at the Minnesota State Fair – so it’s a shame only Pennsylvanians will get to sample this sammie.
Colon signed a minor-league deal with the Twins on July 7. He could join the big leagues by next Tuesday, July 18 as there’s a vacancy in the rotation and the team has yet to announce who will start that game. Oh, and Minnesota hosts the New York Yankees – one of Colon’s former teams.
The 44-year-old hurler was cut by the Atlanta Braves last month after struggling to an ERA north of eight. But he was an All-Star a year ago and was a very effective pitcher from 2012-16.
