A sold-out crowd watched professional hockey at Xcel Energy Center for the first time in 284 days as the Wild held a scrimmage Wednesday night. The Wild’s Red team defeated the White team by a score of 4-1. Jared Spurgeon led the way for the Red, as he scored two goals.
The scrimmage was played like a real game, featuring three 20-minute periods and two 18-minute intermissions.
After regulation the teams played a five-minute practice overtime session, which Pierre Marc-Bouchard ended when his backhanded shot found the top of the net to give the red team an overtime victory:
